Youth hold protest outside BJP office in Leh to restore statehood for Union Territory of Ladakh

Leh (Ladakh), Sept 24 2025 (Ani): A large group of youth activists and concerned citizens gathered outside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Leh, Union Territory of Ladakh, to stage a peaceful but determined protest demanding the restoration of statehood to the region. The protest reflects growing discontent among sections of Ladakh's population over the lack of political representation, autonomy, and constitutional safeguards since the region was carved out as a Union Territory following the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of Jammu & Kashmir in August 2019.
