Sourav Ganguly must be allowed to contest ICC election’: Mamata Banerjee appeals PM Modi

Kolkata, October 17(ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata, West Bengal on October 17 appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to allow the outgoing BCCI President Sourav Ganguly to contest International Cricket Council election. While addressing media persons, she said, “I request Prime Minister to make sure Sourav Ganguly must be allowed to contest ICC election. He's a popular figure which is why he is being deprived. I request the Government of India not to take a decision politically, but for cricket, sports. He is not a political party member.”
