Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 15 (ANI): Sindhi political activists have highlighted the human rights violations in Pakistan’s Sindh province and have asked the United Nations to send a fact-finding mission to the region to expose state’s brutalities. At a side event titled “Human Rights Violations in Sindh” held during the 40th Session of UN Human Rights Session in Geneva, the Sindhis expressed deep concern over destruction of Sindhi culture and killings of political leaders by the security agencies. Lakhu Luhana, secretary general of World Sindhi Congress said, “The entire Sindh region, which is historically rich, cultured and well settled they have completely destroyed and destabilized the society. Poverty, disease, displacement, malnutrition and death are hanging on Sindh. And, those who raise the voice they gone missing”. The activist also played a video of a 16-year-old Sindhi man from Karachi who was forcibly picked by the security agencies without any fault. Enforced disappearances, torture and killings of Sindhi political activists remains a major concern in Sindh province of Pakistan.
