Farmers ‘running out of patience’, want resolution today

Dec 05, 2020

Tikri Border, New Delhi, Dec 05 (ANI): As the fifth round of talks is underway between the government and farmer leaders on December 05 at 2 pm, protesting farmers said they are running out of patience and today’s talks will be the last. The primary demand of the farmers is the rollback of agricultural reforms which they have termed as “black laws”. “The government is repeatedly extending the meetings. All of the organisations have decided unanimously that today is the last day of discussions,” said one of the protesting farmers stationed at Tikri border (Delhi-Haryana). Farmers are adamant about their demands and said they will not be content with amendments, and want complete rollback of the laws. “We want complete rollback of the laws. If the government doesn't accept our demand, we will continue our agitation,” said Harjinder Singh Tanda, Punjab chief of Azad Kisan Sangharsh Committee. Sanyukt Kisan Morcha’s president Rampal Singh went one step ahead by saying that nothing but the rollback of the farm laws will be discussed in today’s meeting.
