Wall Street's main indices close sharply higher on technology gains

New York [US], July 31: Wall Street's main stock indices closed sharply higher on Thursday, buoyed by broad-based gains in technology shares.
The S&P 500 rose 124.60 points, or 1.70 %, to close at 7,440.75.
The Nasdaq Composite advanced 679.24 points, or 2.76 %, to finish at 25,118.17, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 607.28 points, or 1.18 %, to close at 52,201.42.
