New York City delays resumption of indoor dining

Jul 02, 2020

New York (USA), July 2: New York City will delay the resumption of indoor restaurant dining amid a spike in coronavirus cases in many parts of the United States.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said at a briefing on Wednesday that the city is not going ahead with a plan to allow indoor restaurant dining from Monday.
The virus has been relatively under control in the city.
But de Blasio said that looking at the situation in the country, "We particularly see problems revolving around people going back to bars and restaurants indoors."
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo expressed concern that compliance with guidelines to wear a mask and maintain social-distancing is dropping.
New York State has decided to double the number of states to 16 whose travelers will be required to quarantine when visiting the state.
Coronavirus infections are surging in states, including Texas in the south, California in the west and Wisconsin in the Midwest.
ABC News and others say the number of cases is on the rise in 38 states.
