Millions of people protested across the United States

Washington [US], October 19: An estimated 2,700 marches took place across all 50 states in the US, with millions of people taking to the streets on October 18.
According to The Guardian on October 19, Portland, Oregon recorded 40,000 protesters. Police had to use tear gas to disperse the crowd gathered near the US Customs and Immigration (ICE) facility. In Chicago, Illinois, there were up to 100,0000 people attending and the crowd stretched for more than 3 km. Many other cities also recorded several thousand to tens of thousands of protesters.
Crowds have taken to the streets across America to express their discontent with the policies of President Donald Trump's administration, media reports say .
Governors of Republican states have ordered the National Guard to be ready to respond if needed. The New York Police Department (NYPD) announced that most protests in New York City have ended and no arrests have been recorded.
The crowd held signs and chanted "No Kings." Similar protests took place in the United States in June. The October 18 demonstration could be among the largest in American history.
In Europe, groups of hundreds of people also took to the streets in protest in Britain, Germany and Spain.
The White House has not commented on the recent large protest. According to Reuters, President Trump spent dinner on October 17 attending a fundraising event at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. On October 18, Mr. Trump was at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.
On October 17, President Trump told Fox News: "They say they are calling me a king. I am not a king."
